Proper Leather Goods Care and Cleaning is very important to keep your leather bags and wallets in good shape, so we have collected the best tips for you to help you.

Storage: We recommend storing your leather goods in the original cloth bags we sell them in but you can store them in any cloth bag – even an old pillow cover. The idea behind that just is to keep them clean and dust free while allowing air to pass through.

To help retain the shape of soft handbags stuff them with soft materials such as old clothes or soft crushed stuffing papers. This will prevent creases being formed and also retain the shape of your bag. Don’t ever hang your bag from a hook and don’t fold it either. Place it horizontally on a flat non-humid surface and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Please air your leather goods at least once every six months, even if you do not use them.

Caution: It is important not to store your leather goods close to moth balls. Repellents, be it in any form – beads, cakes or crystals – cause the material to age fast and this can lead to cracks. Also leave the straps open as the clips may leave stains.

Cleaning: If you want to clean your leather goods, just wipe them off with a damp cloth. Do not rub hard on the surface of your bag even if it is to remove stain. You can slightly wet the area, to loosen up a particularly adamant stain, and then gently wipe it off. But please keep in mind that even water can cause stains in leather, so avoid getting the leather too wet.

Natural leather is very sensitive to water, all kinds of stains and humid weather since it is untreated. Try to avoid to expose it to harsh weather and tough stains all time.

Care: After a few years of use, it might be a good idea to ‘feed’ your leather goods with a leather conditioner at least annually. Be mindful that applying leather conditioner can make the color of the leather darker. Select a good brand and use carefully as per instructions in the bottle. Don’t use any harsh cleaners on your bag. Leather is very sensitive and you need to handle it like you would handle a baby – with gentle care and affection.
